Holidaying in South Africa

My husband and I love to travel and we have just completed a trip to the Kgalagadi and the Namaqua National Park. We spent a couple of weeks exploring the game parks in our Land Rover Defender. We enjoy the quietness and the serenity of the bushveld and no matter what the weather you are astounded at the variety of animals and birdlife that one gets to see. It was quite sad at the Kgalagadi park as there is water but the grazing is so sparse that the animals are dying at the water holes due to lack of grazing. When we left it started to rain and it did bring some relief not only to the animals but to the locals as well.  We then drove on to Cape Town but did a stopover in Stellenbosch for a balloon ride that we had booked. Unfortunately, due to the winds, it was canceled and we continued onto Cape Town with a promise that we would do it before we came back to Port Elizabeth. True to their word we did the ride on as promised and what an experience that was!
